Bringing the Policy Back In: A Substantive Agenda for the New European Union
The ERI was pleased to welcome Vice-President of the European Commission, Margot Wallström, to give the keynote speech at a two-day conference co-funded by the European Commission and Advantage West Midlands.
The event brought together scholars, policy practitioners, government officials and regional leaders from commerce and industry to assess the EU’s policy remit and debate ways on which European policy can help improve citizens’ jobs and lives. With so much time and effort spent on institutional navel-gazing, this conference considered the real policy output that affects business and citizens across the 27 member states.
